Today is flight day!
You will travel by train from Ottawa to Montreal and then embark on your overnight flight to Paris!
Bon voyageou will travel on the high speed train from Lyon to Paris.
From the Paris Gare de Lyon you will make your way to your hotel; Maison Armance. It is a 15 minute metro ride or 30 minutes by taxi. As with most large cities; public transportation is more efficient. However please do be very mindful of your personal belongings in the metro and on the train....especially as you will be quite noticeable with luggage and therefore be a bit of a target.
Check into the hotel and then I think it would be good to have a spot of lunch. I will recommend a lovely spot nearby. Especially if the weather is nice and you can sit outside.
Then it is off to meet a local Parisian. You will spend an efficient 90 minutes with her for an overview walk of Paris.
For dinner I'll suggest a nice spot in the neighborhood.
October 11
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and then ready yourself for a half day walk
For a delicious crepe snack or light lunch pop into a local restaurant I will recommend.
Later today you will experience the Seine in a very different way; a private cruise on a vintage boat. Cruise past the Eiffel Tower, the Musée d’Orsay, the Louvre & Notre Dame de Paris, leaving you with a unique, magical & unforgettable viewpoint on the City of Light.
You will return to the dock and enjoy 25 minute walk to a delicious dinner at a local Parisian cafe that is highly regarded and requires a reservation well in advance...I'll take care of that:-).
October 12
Enjoy breakfast; then head out to meet your guide for a private tour of the Left Bank. You will visit the cafes where Hemingway - and other famous authors - drank, dined and chatted the nights away.
Later this afternoon experience Paris and Versailles with a private helicopter flight. You will enjoy the best views of Paris possible with aerial angles of the Eiffel Tower, La Défense, Montparnasse Tower, and the bridges of the Seine and the Parisian arrondissements. You will make your way to Versailles; land, celebrate with a drink and then head back to the City of Light.
Tonight; in keeping with our ode to former glory you will dine in a charming little restaurant housed in a former Orient Express rail car.
October 13

You have booked your travels with an Ontario Travel Advisor. Travel Advisors in Ontario are certified, registered and monitored by the Travel Industry Council of Ontario; the provincial travel regulatory body. As such your travels are protected by the Ontario Travel Industry Compensation Fund.
The Ontario Travel Industry Compensation Fund is governed by Ontario Regulation 26/05 made under the Travel Industry Act, 2002. The Fund is totally financed by registered travel agents and travel wholesalers in Ontario and is administered by the Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO), whose Board of Directors determine whether a claim or a part of one, meets the requirements of the Regulation. The Board is comprised of individuals appointed by the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies, the Canadian Association of Tour Operators, the Ontario Motor Coach Association, the Ontario Government and individuals elected by registered travel agents and wholesalers.
Subject to the Regulation, the Fund provides reimbursement of monies paid to an Ontario registered travel agent for travel services that are not provided due to the bankruptcy or insolvency of an Ontario registrant or an end supplier airline or cruise line, where a reimbursement has not otherwise been provided. As long as the consumer has dealt through a registered Ontario travel retailer, a claim may be filed against the Compensation Fund for the non-provision of travel services.
Claims may also be filed against the Compensation Fund to provide the reimbursement of reasonable expenses incurred (transportation, accommodation and meals) to complete a trip where the travel services have not been provided as the result of the closure of a TICO registered travel retailer or a TICO registered travel wholesaler. Provided that the consumer purchased their original travel services from an Ontario registered travel retailer, trip completion claims may be eligible when the consumer's travel services commenced prior to the failure of the TICO registrant and the consumer is in destination and unable to receive the travel services purchased to complete their travel plans.
